Real Madrid have sparked a transfer scramble among Premier League clubs after hinting that they are willing to listen to offers for Javier Saviola.
Saviola, 27, remains a fringe player at the Bernabeu 18 months after joining the Spanish champions from bitter rivals Barcelona on a free transfer.
The Argentina forward was been linked with moves to Portsmouth, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur during the transfer window and Real could be willing to cash in on the diminutive frontman.
Saviola remains under contract until 2011, but has started just one La Liga game this season.
He has previously spent time on loan at Monaco and Sevilla after struggling to hold down a first-team place at Barcelona.
"We are open to some lines but the time is key in this subject," a club source is reported as saying when asked about a potential January move for Saviola.
