Fratton Park clash called off

Portsmouth and Wycombe were drawing 1-1 when their League Two clash was called off at half-time after a thunderstorm and torrential rain left the Fratton Park pitch unplayable.

Referee Lee Collins had no option but to call a halt to proceedings as huge puddles of water formed in both penalty areas.

Collins had already consulted with his assistants over bringing the players off midway through the first half as lightning struck the stadium.

Wycombe coped with the sodden conditions better and took a deserved lead when Billy Knott rifled home from 20 yards on the half-hour mark after Pompey had failed to clear a corner.

However, the hosts equalised seconds before the interval abandonment when Patrick Agyemang finished neatly after Sonny Bradley had flicked on a Ricky Holmes free-kick.
