McCabe set for Pompey bow

Rhys McCabe is set to make his Portsmouth debut against York at Fratton Park.

The midfielder has joined Pompey on loan from Sheffield Wednesday and could go straight into the starting line-up as Romain Padovani (calf) and Andy Barcham (thigh) are injury doubts.

Skipper Ben Chorley is battling to return to the back four after missing last weekend's 3-1 defeat at Fleetwood - which left Pompey hovering just two places and four points above the drop zone - due to an Achilles problem.

Long-term absentees Danny East (ankle), Simon Ferry (back) and Tom Craddock (knee) are still out.

York boss Nigel Worthington is expected to send out an unchanged side for the sixth successive game.

Worthington has no new selection issues as his side bid to maintain their play-off challenge with a fifth straight league win. The Minstermen are unbeaten in their previous eight matches.

Defender Dan Parslow is the only long-term absentee after a knee injury cut short his season in November.

Strikers Wes Fletcher and Ryan Jarvis, plus midfielder Lewis Montrose and defender David McGurk are all pushing for recalls to the starting line-up.
