Harley banned for Yeovil clash

Experienced defender Jon Harley will miss Portsmouth's home clash against Yeovil.

The 33-year-old picked up his fifth booking of the season in the 2-1 defeat to Crawley, the club's 11th game without a win.

Guy Whittingham sprung a surprise on Boxing Day when he dropped 11-goal top scorer Izale McLeod in favour of Paul Benson, but the Pompey boss is likely to reassess his selection.

McLeod is one of seven players whose contract at Fratton Park expires in January and Whittingham will be wary of losing some of his prized assets.

He has limited options when it comes to making changes, but Lubomir Michalik could be handed a start ahead of Gabor Gyepes in defence after replacing him in the second half against the Red Devils.

Yeovil manager Gary Johnson will assess his threadbare squad.

The Glovers could only name five substitutes - two of which were scholars - as they were beaten 3-0 by Bournemouth on Boxing Day.

Johnson has seen on-loan duo Korey Smith and Joe Edwards return to parent clubs Norwich and Bristol City, while Paddy Madden's loan spell ends after the game at Fratton Park.

Johnson is hoping to add to his squad in January with Smith, Edwards and Madden all being looked at.

Yeovil will hand a fitness test to Sam Foley. The midfielder limped out of the 4-1 victory over Oldham with a tight hamstring and was ruled out of the Bournemouth game but is hoping to make his return.
