Potts set for Pompey bow

Dan Potts is in line to make his debut for Portsmouth when they host Scunthorpe.

The West Ham teenager has joined Pompey on loan for a month and is set to start at left-back.

Under-fire boss Guy Whittingham is short in attack, however, as Patrick Agyemang aggravated a thigh injury at AFC Wimbledon last week and Ryan Bird had to go off with concussion, while loanee John Marquis has returned to Millwall.

Whittingham vowed to make further changes after three defeats in eight days so the likes of Shaun Cooper, Yassin Moutaouakil and Tom Craddock are pushing for starts.

Scunthorpe's recent loan signing Reuben Noble-Lazarus is expected to return to the side at Fratton Park, where caretaker managers Russ Wilcox and Tony Daws will take charge of their first match.

Barnsley winger Noble-Lazarus missed the midweek FA Cup replay defeat to Grimsby as he was refused permission to play by his parent club.

Scunthorpe, who sacked manager Brian Laws on Wednesday, are also hoping to recall Eddie Nolan to the squad. The right-back has been sidelined since September with a hamstring injury but played 90 minutes for the reserves in midweek.

Midfielder Matt Sparrow is still out due to a similar problem as the Iron chase their first win in six matches.
