Pompey draft in duo

Portsmouth have added Trevor Carson and Therry Racon to their squad for the visit of Rochdale.

Boss Guy Whittingham moved for Bury goalkeeper Carson on loan following John Sullivan's error-strewn display in the 4-2 defeat by York last week, while free agent midfielder Racon provides cover for injury doubts Andy Barcham and Simon Ferry.

Barcham is receiving treatment on a knee problem and Ferry limped off with a hamstring complaint against the Minstermen.

There is better news in defence where Joe Devera is back in training after his hamstring injury while Shaun Cooper could also return following a groin strain, although full-back Yassin Moutaouakil is still suspended.

Rochdale are chasing a fifth straight league win and manager Keith Hill will select his starting XI from an unchanged squad.

Hill has no new injury or suspension problems, but will still be without skipper Peter Cavanagh, who is recovering from an Achilles injury, and suspended striker George Donnelly.

Donnelly will sit out the second game of a three-match ban following his straight red card in the recent win at Accrington.

Joe Bunney stepped in to fill the gap up front last week and scored in the win against Wycombe, so will be hoping to resume alongside Scott Hogan, while striker Graham Cummins and midfielder Peter Vincenti are pushing for recalls.
