Padovani back for Pompey

Romain Padovani is set to return to the Portsmouth squad as another turbulent season comes to an end against Plymouth.

The French midfielder has recovered from the calf problem which has kept him out for the last six weeks and could feature for the first time under Andy Awford, who on Thursday was named Pompey's third permanent manager of the campaign.

But winger Andy Barcham (thigh), midfielder Simon Ferry (back) and striker Ryan Bird (groin) will miss the season finale.

Pompey, who were in danger of relegation when Awford took caretaker charge in March, could finish as high as ninth with a victor

Plymouth will include Paul Wotton in the squad as he looks to draw level with a club record.

The 36-year-old will hope to make his 491st appearance for the Pilgrims which would see him draw level with Sammy Black as the club's all-time record appearance holder and boss John Sheridan confirmed he will be in the matchday squad.

Striker Marvin Morgan will not be involved at Fratton Park as he waits for results of tests he underwent in hospital following his collapse in training last week.

Top scorer Reuben Reid was benched for the 1-1 draw against Hartlepool but he could be recalled to the starting XI.
