Wes set for Pompey bow

Wes Fogden is in line to make his Portsmouth debut against Mansfield.

The midfielder has moved to Fratton Park from south-coast rivals Bournemouth on an 18-month contract.

Wingers Andy Barcham (thigh) and Ricky Holmes (concussion) are in contention to return but Danny East (ankle) is a doubt while fellow defender Dan Butler and striker Tom Craddock (both knee) remain on the sidelines.

Full-back Marcos Painter has signed a new contract but forward Jake Jervis, who rejoined Pompey last week, is still awaiting international clearance from the Turkish FA following his move from Elazigspor.

Martin Riley and Jamie McGuire are both expected to return to the Mansfield squad for the trip.

Midfielder McGuire has been absent since suffering a groin injury in the win at Cheltenham on December 29, while defender Riley (leg) last featured during the goalless home draw with Burton on New Year's Day.

Leading scorer Sam Clucas is also closing in on a return after a month out with ankle ligament damage and the 11-goal forward should be back in the Stags side before the end of January.

However, midfielder Ben Hutchinson has suffered a slight setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury.
