Pompey without Jervis

Portsmouth are without Jake Jervis for the visit of Crawley after he returned to Birmingham.

The Blues have a plethora of injury problems and recalled the 21-year-old forward to boost numbers ahead of their trip to Barnsley.

Jervis should be replaced by Paul Benson in the starting line-up. The striker missed the goalless draw against Preston and was expected to return at the weekend but the match at Hartlepool was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

With Benson fit, caretaker boss Guy Whittingham has a fully-fit squad to choose from as Pompey look to end their run of 10 matches without a win.

The Fratton Park club are currently in the relegation zone and have a 10-point deduction looming.

Crawley are assessing the fitness of Claude Davis ahead of the trip.

The defender was left on the bench for Saturday's 2-0 defeat against Sheffield United after sustaining a knee injury against Stevenage.

The 33-year-old will have to prove his fitness ahead of the game, with Joe Walsh ready to fill in once more if Davis is not cleared to start.

Fellow defender Kyle McFadzean is not expected to return until the start of January due to an illness.

Billy Clarke could return to the line-up after coming through 23 minutes unscathed on his return from a hamstring problem.

Midfielder Shaun Cooper remains sidelined with the groin injury that has kept him out of action since September.
