Portsmouth v Arsenal preview

Portsmouth aim to continue their progression under manager Paul Hart when they host Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.[LNB] Hart, who took over from Tony Adams in February, has helped drag the South Coast club away from danger, with the side now seven points above the drop zone.[LNB]Just four games of the season remain, and, while Pompey are not mathematically safe, Hart will be aware that it would take a dramatic capitulation to see them relegated now.[LNB]And the interim coach could see this weekend's meeting with the Gunners as good an opportunity as any to record Portsmouth's first Premier League win over the North London outfit.[LNB]Arsenal will no doubt have next Tuesday's UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg meeting with Manchester United at the back of their minds when they travel to Fratton Park.[LNB]But three points for Arsene Wenger's men would guarantee them fourth place, and in turn Champions League football for next campaign.[LNB]Team newsHart will consider whether to recall Jermaine Pennant and Younes Kaboul to his starting line-up but playmaker Niko Kranjcar (ankle) has been ruled out for the rest of the season.[LNB]Former Arsenal winger Pennant, on loan from Liverpool, has started on the substitutes' bench for the last three games but, with David Nugent aggravating a hip injury in Monday's draw at Newcastle, could be drafted in.[LNB]Defender Kaboul has missed the last two matches with a thigh injury but has started training again.[LNB]Armand Traore, on loan from the Gunners, has not figured at all since Hart took over as boss and is ineligible.[LNB]Arsenal will be without leading scorer Robin van Persie, striker Eduardo and defender Mikael Silvestre (all groin) for the match.[LNB]However, Andrey Arshavin is available again having been cup-tied for the midweek European encounter at Old Trafford.[LNB]Possible starting XIs[LNB]Portsmouth: James, Johnson, Campbell, Distin, Hreidarsson, Pennant, Davis, Hughes, Mullins, Belhadj, Crouch.[LNB]Arsenal: Almunia, Eboue, Toure, Djourou, Gibbs, Arshavin, Denilson, Ramsey, Diaby, Vela, Bendtner.[LNB]
