Portsmouth to send Tosic to QPR

Portsmouth have agreed to send Serbia international Dusko Tosic on loan to QPR, subject to approval from the Football League.

The former Werder Bremen defender signed for Pompey as a free agent in February as the cash-strapped club sought to reinforce their depleted squad, but the Premier League initially withheld his registration because of the financial situation at Fratton Park. He was eventually allowed to sign on condition that he be loaned to a club in a lower division.

"I am delighted to be here," Tosic, 25, told QPR's official website. "All I want to do is play games and hopefully I will get that chance here with Queens Park Rangers."

He added: "I didn't want to play for any Championship team, it had to be right. I have watched a couple of QPR matches and there are some very good players here."

Tosic was an unused substitute in Portsmouth's 4-1 FA Cup fifth-round win at Southampton in February, but failed to get on the pitch this season.
