Portsmouth still searching for assistant manager after failed bid for Gary McAllister
The former Scotland midfielder held talks over the position - vacant since Brian Kidd's summer departure for Manchester City - on Monday. [LNB]Portsmouth are bottom of the Premier League having lost their opening seven matches, the worst start by a team in the top flight since Manchester United in 1930-31. [LNB]After taking charge at Elland Road in January 2008, McAllister almost led Leeds to promotion, but the Elland Road club lost out to Doncaster in the League One play-off final.
