Amid fears that new owner Sulaiman Al Fahim is not able to meet the financial demands of the club, panic has reportedly set in among players who, according to the Mail, have consulted agents and Portsmouth finance director Tanya Robins for answers. Seven matches in to the season and still without a win, the news will come as a fresh blow to manager Paul Hart who will doubtless being trying to inspire his team ahead of a crucial weekend clash away to Wolverhampton Wanderers. The reports claims Portsmouth have put the incident down to a "payroll issue" and that the situation would be resolved on Thursday. Having lost the majority of the squad who only two seasons ago led the club the FA Cup glory, Portsmouth have struggled to make much of an impact against any side this season and in doing so have claimed the record of the worst start to a Premier League season by any team in history and are the only side yet to claim any points. The club have suffered a further blow following news that Kanu is being lined up for a big money move to Australia. The Nigerian international is understood to have a deal in place with Gold Coast galaxy - sister club to David Beckham's LA Galaxy. Kanu's future was the topic of speculation towards the end of the summer when, with his contract having expired, he agreed to sign a new deal which lasted just one month. He later extended this to a year-long deal leading supporters to believe he was committed to the end of the season. But it appears that the club's recent turmoil may see Kanu follow in the footsteps of Peter Crouch and Sol Campbell.
