According to a report in the Daily Express, Storrie had an emergency meeting with the club's owner Sacha Gaydamak this week to discuss the issue. [LNB]With Gaydamak interested in selling Portsmouth he cannot afford to do so with the club in the Championship rather than the Premier league. [LNB]Adams was handed the position just 13 weeks ago when Harry Redknapp moved to Tottenham and Adams was promoted from his assistant.[LNB]A statement on the club's website read: 'Portsmouth Football Club has instructed its lawyers to being legal proceedings against the Daily Express following an untrue story in today's newspaper that alleges Alan Curbishley has been approached to become the club's new manager.[LNB]'At no stage did the newspaper seek confirmation from the club that its facts were correct. The club will be seeking a full retraction from the newspaper.[LNB]'The club became aware of the story at around 9.30pm last night and immediately contacted the Daily Express.[LNB]'The newspaper was told that there was no truth in the allegation and that legal proceedings would begin if they continued to publish.[LNB]'We were told by the newspaper that the journalist's source was not prepared to stand up in a court of law should we take legal action and as a result the Daily Express changed their story in later editions.'[LNB]A club spokesman added: 'Tony Adams is the manager of Portsmouth Football Club and no-one else, including Alan Curbishley, has been approached to replace him.[LNB]Adams has come under pressure amid suggestions that players have been left confused by his training methods and match day tactics and the club are in freefall having lost six of their last seven league matches. [LNB]They now sit just a single point above the relegation places and face a difficult home fixture against second placed Liverpool on Saturday.[LNB]
