Staying put: Avram Grant [LNB]Portsmouth have calmed fears boss Avram Grant is to turn his back on the beleaguered club over concerns he has been undermined on transfer matters.[LNB]The south coast club are desperate to raise funds to help themselves away from financial oblivion but Grant has demanded final say on playing staff.[LNB]That, though, appears to have been ignored with reports emerging Younes Kaboul and goalkeeper Asmir Begovic are close to joining Tottenham.[LNB]Chief executive Peter Storrie admitted he is aggrieved by the situation at the club, but after speaking with Grant feels quitting at this stage is not an option.[LNB]He said: 'We have spoken about it. We are both angry, frustrated and fed up, but neither of us are quitters.[LNB]'I don't intend to quit now I've slept on it, and although I cannot speak for Avram, from what we have talked about this morning, I don't think he will quiteither. And, let's face it, we both have good reason to walk out.'[LNB]Storrie conceded that the player exodus could be the key to securing the club's financial future. Indeed, Storrie went further by suggesting deals for both Kaboul and Begovic to join Spurs have been completed.[LNB] Clutching at straws: Begovic (right) tries in vain to stop West Ham scoring[LNB]'I am no longer involved in the finances, I am not involved in the transfer negotiations, and Avram doesn't know what players are being sold,' he added.[LNB]'The two best players on the pitch in our last game against West Ham, Kaboul and Begovic, have been sold to Spurs, and - who knows? - it might not stopthere.[LNB]'That's not good for Avram, so you can understand why he is frustrated and angry about it, but at least it will keep the club alive for two or three months, maybe until the end of the season, which will gives you all time to sort out what is going on here.' [LNB] Angry Avram: Sale of Kaboul to Spurs puts Portsmouth boss on the brinkPortsmouth website shut down after cash-strapped club fail to pay operatorDavid James off to Stoke City in bid to save cash-strapped Portsmouth from going under Crisis club Portsmouth face new low by naming just three substitutesPortsmouth win their battle to have transfer embargo lifted after 103 daysPORTSMOUTH FC
