Portsmouth and Hull missed out on ex-Chelsea striker Claudio Pizarro
Claudio Pizarro turned down the chance to stay in the Premier League when he left Chelsea for Werder Bremen.
Hull and Portsmouth are believed to have shown an interest in the Peru striker before he returned to the Bundesliga after spending last season on loan at Bremen.
Pizarro, who was the German outfit's top scorer with 28 goals in all competitions, said: 'The whole process was quite nerve-racking. There was interest from England but I am happy to be back at Werder.'
