Portsmouth insist there is no way that Sylvain Distin will be allowed to leave Fratton Park.
However, Pompey accept that Peter Crouch has played his last game for the club, with the former Liverpool striker expected to join Tottenham after rejecting the chance to move to Sunderland.
Chief executive Peter Storrie told the Portsmouth News: "Peter will not be staying. I'm aware of the Sunderland situation but there are other clubs in for him.
"With him it's a club decision to sell. It's like anything, if exceptional money is offered you look at it and that's the instance in this case.
"However, we want Sylvain to remain at this football club and will be making sure he does.
"We have only ever had one offer for him and I'm not at liberty to say who from. But we told them we weren't interested under any circumstances.
"At this moment in time, as far as we're concerned, Sylvain is staying. It's as simple as that."
