Pompey To Play Betis After All

Friendly arranged for August 31st. Pompey will travel to Spain to play Real Betis on Wednesday, August 31st following the cancellation of last month's friendly. The game will take place at the Estadio Benito Villamarin at 9pm local time (8pm our time) and should provide an exercise with the international break coming up next weekend. The La Liga side recently hammered Havant & Waterlooville 7-0 at Westleigh Park when Pompey's players were stranded in the USA. Hopefully there will be some new faces on the plane to Seville next week as the rumour mill has turned freezing cold this past week, with no players being seriously linked with a move to Portsmouth. And with a squad of only 19 players, it is clear that Steve Cotterill needs to recruit players, preferably permanent additions, before the transfer window shuts around an hour after the match with Betis.
