Pompey's Court Confusion
Yet another twist in the never ending Portsmouth saga.
On Wednesday night it was announced that PKF's court date with Portpin to finally settle the issue of the sale of Fratton Park to the Portsmouth Supporters Trust had been adjourned.
It was reported that PKF had sought an adjournment to the hearing with the announcement that Portpin seemingly planned to persuade the court to appoint a new administrator so the club could be sold back to them.
The administrator in question is Brendan Guilfoyle, a man who has had experience in dealing with the administrations of Crystal Palace, Luton Town and Plymouth Argyle.
Whilst his work is generally praised by fans of the former two clubs, Argyle fans despise the man that "almost killed their club" having sold it to the wrong man who then oversaw a once profitable football club asset stripped whilst falling to the bottom of the football league.
Therefore, you might assume that should Portpin be successful in hiring this man, he would grant Balram Chainrai and co. a route back to buying Portsmouth FC. In fact, the empty Portpin promises have already started to be made once again.
As it stands, PKF has confirmed that the court case will go ahead as planned at 10:30am today although it is likely that Trevor Birch will seek an adjournment, although why he wants that is not clear.
So much for this saga coming to a conclusion, eh?
