Pompey duo in hot water
05 Aug 2009 - 12:22:14
Portsmouth have fined David Nugent and Marc Wilson two weeks' wages after they were involved in a drunken brawl during the club's pre-season tour of Portugal.
Wilson is alleged to have hit Nugent across the legs with a piece of wood or metal rod taken from a wardrobe in a corridor outside their rooms at the four-star Villa Hotel in Guimaraes.
Pompey spokesman Gary Double confirmed: "There was an incident in which two players were disciplined for a breach of club discipline.
"David Nugent and Marc Wilson were sent home separately from the team and will be dealt with internally."
Meanwhile, Hart is believed to be close to making Lyon striker Frederic Piquionne his third signing of the summer.
The 30-year-old is reportedly set to sign a one-year loan agreement at Fratton Park.
He scored only three goals in 22 appearances for Lyon last term after previously enjoying more prolific spells at Rennes, St Etienne and AS Monaco.
