Pompey deny spending spree

Portsmouth executive chairman Peter Storrie has warned the club's fans not to expect a spending spree this summer.
The imminent takeover of the Fratton Park club by Sulaiman Al-Fahim has sparked talk of a major influx of new players, but Storrie doesn't believe that that will happen.
He told The News: "He is not going to spend, spend, spend immediately on players. We are not in a rush.
"We are not going to splash out £40-60million this summer, that's not how Al-Fahim wants to do things. Instead, he wants to spend money over the next couple of years.
"It's not just the playing side which interests him, he is very much interested in the academy, in the study centre, in the community office, every aspect of the club.
"He loves the club and has been very impressed with everything he has seen at Fratton Park.
"But he wants to be involved in improving everything, not just the playing side of things. It is going to take time, but he is in this for the long haul."
