Pompey Bag Buzsaky
Hungarian midfielder signs a one-month deal.
Michael Appleton has signed ex-QPR midfielder Akos Buzsaky for a month after he was released by the Premier League club in the summer.
The 30-year-old is reported to be on very little money but is eager to play for a "big club" - until the January transfer window at least.
This may well be an excellent signing for Pompey and a coup for Michael Appleton. Buzsaky has excellent technical ability, a great passing range for this division and also an eye for goal.
The only conundrum is where the Hungarian is going to play. His position is predominantly in the centre of the park but Howard surely won't be dropped and so to have Buzsaky partner him would leave the midfield lacking any real grit.
It is expected that he might eventually play on the left as Jack Compton seems to be out of favour and Lee Williamson is not the sort of player to beat a man and deliver a quality cross into the box.
Pompey fans should find out at Yeovil tomorrow just what Appleton's plans for Buzsaky are, but he still isn't quite match fit and so is unlikely to start at Huish Park.
Let's just hope that this is one player who actually lives up to his reputation.
