Portsmouth midfielder Matt Ritchie is hopeful of signing a new deal with the club as he prepares to reject a potential switch to Swindon Town.[LNB] Robins manager Danny Wilson made a permanent move for the 20-year-old winger back in January before eventually bringing him to the County Ground on loan, where he remained for six weeks before being recalled by the South-Coast club for the close of last season.[LNB]Wilson admitted Ritchie would be back on his radar again this summer but, due to Portsmouth's relegation and need to sell their star names, it appears the youngster has a prominent role to play at Fratton Park and he is willing to show what he can do.[LNB]Ritchie told The News: "There's been a few sniffs around me but, to be honest, I want to stay here.[LNB]"I've been offered a two-year deal and there is a bit of negotiating to do still. Hopefully we can get that sorted and I can play for Portsmouth in the Championship. I want to prove myself and be a local boy playing for the team he loves to play for.[LNB]"I will give 120% every week. Hopefully I will get the chance to prove myself. It's going to be a big year for me in the Championship. Hopefully I can play and turn myself into a big player for us."
