Pompey waiting on Nugent

Portsmouth striker David Nugent needs a late fitness test ahead of the visit of Cardiff. Nugent scored his first Pompey goal since February 2009 in Tuesday's Carling Cup win over Crystal Palace, but twisted his ankle in the process and had to leave the field. Boss Steve Cotterill have to check on John Utaka as well after the frontman sat out in midweek with a hamstring strain. And Cotterill is also waiting on a third forward, veteran Nigerian star Kanu, who could finally be about to resolve his contract wrangle with the club and would therefore be available for the first time this season. Skipper Marc Wilson is set to play his last game for Pompey with Stoke leading the chase for his signature ahead of Tuesday's transfer deadline.
