Pompey striker Kanu in limbo over new contract at Fratton Park

Portsmouth FA Cup final hero Nwankwo Kanu has admitted his Fratton Park future is in the balance. The Nigerian forward scored a vital goal against Bolton on Saturday to take Portsmouth six points clear of the relegation zone. But the former Arsenal man's first-team chances have been limited this season and has been given no indication whether his deal will be renewed at the end of the campaign. 'That was my first league goal this season and although the most important thing is that we won, it is difficult for me when I have not been playing, or coming on with 10 minutes to go,' said Kanu. 'I scored the winner in the FA Cup final a year ago and also in the semi-final. But this goal could be just as important because I don't know what my future is. 'I love Portsmouth and I want to play for them. I know how to play football so if I get the opportunities I can still play. 'Maybe this was a little reminder to the manager but we have a good squad here so it is a case of just awaiting my chance to play.'
