Portsmouth remain keen to land Hamilton teenager James McCarthy this summer. The 18-year-old midfielder was named Scottish Young Player of the Year after an impressive breakthrough season. Hamilton revealed Pompey had a £500,000 bid for the teenager turned down, and caretaker boss Paul Hart has admitted they are continuing to monitor the situation closely. Hart said: "I am director of the youth academy and he is a youngish boy, so I can get involved in those sort of things. "But I am not looking any further than next Monday and the Sunderland game. That is the way I`ve been doing it since I`ve come in."
