Portsmouth have confirmed West Brom have failed in their fresh attempt to sign captain Marc Wilson - but will 'wait and see what happens'.[LNB] The Baggies were unsuccessful with a bid earlier this month and have now missed out for a second time.[LNB]Pompey administrator Andrew Andronikou has confirmed West Brom's £3million offer plus add-ons has been refused.[LNB]Andronikou has not ruled out Wilson leaving before the transfer window closes, but insists manager Steve Cotterill is not looking to sell.[LNB]"West Brom offered us £3m plus add-ons but that has been turned down," Andronikou told the Portsmouth News.[LNB]"Steve Cotterill does not want to sell such an important player.[LNB]"At the moment, as a club he is not a player we have identified to sell.[LNB]"We will have to wait and see what happens."[LNB]Meanwhile, Cotterill is hoping veteran striker Kanu's future is resolved this week, freeing him to play for the Championship club.[LNB]Kanu has been at Pompey for the past four years, but has not played this season after failing to agree terms at Fratton Park.[LNB]"Maybe something could happen with King (Kanu) in the week," said Pompey's boss. "If his contract gets sorted out, that would give us another body. We need that sort of clever player.[LNB]"I can't make any other great strides until we can get ourselves a squad together that can be competitive.[LNB]"I don't want to worry about an injury and I want to get in one of the formations we want to use."[LNB]Finally, Cotterill is playing down reports the club could sign Manchester United Gabriel Obertan despite the Frenchman being spotted among fans in their 1-0 defeat at Preston.[LNB]"I don't know what Obertan was doing there," he added. "At the end of the day, why would he sit in with the Pompey crowd if we were signing him?"
