Pompey seal Williamson move

Portsmouth have completed the £3million signing of defender Mike Williamson from Watford. The Hornets centre-half handed in a transfer request last week and the club accepted a bid from the Premier League side as revealed by skysports on Tuesday. The deadline day move has been swiftly completed by Pompey in a busy few days for Paul Hart's struggling side which has seen Jamie O'Hara , Kevin-Prince Boateng and Tommy Smith arrive at the club. The arrivals however, have coincided with departures of key players Niko Kranjcar and Sylvain Distin as Hart continues to lose his most influential figures. The arrival of 25-year-old Williamson will give the side some much needed steel at the back for Portsmouth but will represent a great loss to the Championship side.
