Pompey pair pen new contracts

Portsmouth youngsters Joel Ward and Tom Kilbey have committed their futures to the club by penning new contracts.[LNB] Defender Ward, who made his debut in the Carling Cup tie against Hereford last season, has signed a new two-year deal to keep him at the club until 2012.[LNB]Midfielder Kilbey, who has yet to appear for the first team, will remain at Fratton Park until June 2011.[LNB]Ward told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to sign an extension. It's a great opportunity to progress, break into the first team and then hold onto my place.[LNB]"Having been at Pompey since I was eight and having been a fan I absolutely love the club and just want to continue to be here."[LNB]Kilbey added: "This is the year where I'm looking to progress. Last season a couple of the lads got a chance in the first team but now with everything that's going on and a new manager coming in, I can hopefully show him what I can do."
