Pompey eye up Jordan

Portsmouth have taken former Burnley defender Stephen Jordan on trial. The 28-year-old is out of contract and has flown with the rest of the Pompey squad for their pre-season tour of North America. Goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown, who left Fratton Park at the end of last season, has also linked up with the squad in a bid to impress new manager Steve Cotterill. England keeper David James has yet to commit his future to the club after talks last week so Cotterill needs to look at alternatives.
