Portsmouth have completed the signing of midfielder Michael Brown from Wigan for a nominal fee. Brown, who was in the final year of his contract at Wigan, has agreed a two-year deal with the option of a third at Fratton Park. The 32-year-old is expected to go straight into Portsmouth's squad for Sunday's game with former club Manchester City, live on Sky Sports 1. Pompey boss Paul Hart was delighted to land the former Tottenham and Sheffield United man. "Michael's a player who has shown he can perform at this level," Hart told the club's official website. "He's very combative and someone who I've admired for many years. "When he was playing at Sheffield United and I was at Nottingham Forest he was a player you didn't want to come up against. "He'll add plenty of steel to our side."
