Pompey Appoint New Chief Exec

Welcome David Lampitt. Former FA Head of Integrity David Lampitt has been appointed the new Chief Executive of Portsmouth Football Club.Lampitt will officially join Pompey once he has served his period of notice and he will be in charge of the day-to-day running of the finances of the club once it comes out of administration. On the face of it, this seems like a good appointment by Andrew Andronikou as this is someone who surely knows what he is doing when it comes to finances. Only time will tell just how successful he will be, but he has a hell of a job on his hands. As the new Chief Exec, you'd expect him to be in charge of contract negotiations and he surely can't be worse than Peter Storrie was after the revelations of Andrew Andronikou yesterday. Some of our players may not play for Pompey again after tomorrow because of "triggered bullet payments" that Pompey will be forced to pay if they play another game after the match against Tottenham.Andronikou would not disclose which players had these bonus clauses in their contracts but The Daily Mirror reports that the players in question are Kanu, Richard Hughes, John Utaka, Papa Bouba Diop and Jamie Ashdown. What's worse, a "mystery player" could miss tomorrow's semi-final because playing would mean having to pay him money that the club simply can't afford.Unless these players waive these bonuses, there is a possibility that they will miss the FA Cup Final, although we still have a monumental task of dumping Tottenham out of the FA Cup tomorrow. It's a shambles, but what else do you expect with Pompey this season?
