Pompey appeal Mullins dismissal

Portsmouth have appealed against the red card shown to Hayden Mullins during Tuesday night's defeat by Coventry. Mullins was sent off for deliberate handball after giving away the penalty with which Marlon King sealed City's 3-0 victory. But manager Steve Cotterill insists he was hard done by. "It was never handball," he said. "The ball was kicked from two yards away onto his thigh and it's bounced onto his hand. His hand hasn't even moved." Mullins will miss Saturday's trip to Cardiff unless the appeal is successful.
