Penalty joy for McLeish

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish understands why referee Lee Probert awarded his side a last-gasp penalty in the 1-0 win against Portsmouth. Probert pointed to the spot after England goalkeeper David James had clattered into Blues midfielder Sebastian Larsson, and up stepped James McFadden to drill the ball home. McLeish said: "As for the penalty, I was nowhere near it but the players are adamant David James was over zealous with his challenge. "We will take the three points. For 30 years I have seen games like that - and my heart is still ticking. We did get put through the mill but we got a great victory."
