Portsmouth midfielder Marlon Pack has signed a new one-year contract to keep him at Fratton Park until June 2011.[LNB] Pack, who came through the youth ranks at Pompey, has enjoyed time on loan at Wycombe and Dagenham.[LNB]He told the club's official website: "There is a new manager at the club now and we are going into a new season of football. Everyone starts as equals and I'm looking forward to the challenge."[LNB]Elsewhere, manager Steve Cotterill has had talks with out-of-contract goalkeeper David James, who is considering a contract offer from the Championship club.[LNB]Cotterill added: "I had a chat with David James the other day and I'll probably have another chat with him next week. At the moment he needs to shut off because he's had a lot of football. He needs to have a bit of a rest.[LNB]"It would be nice for David to be here next season, but let's not get carried away - he's a top goalkeeper and in demand. How in demand he is from other clubs I'm not sure, but we'd like him to be here. We live in hope."
