Portsmouth owner Sulaiman Al Fahim says he is 'feeling sorry' for the club and has revealed the planned £50million investment will be his liability. Al Fahim completed a protracted takeover of the Premier League's bottom club in the early weeks of the season, but has been looking to secure further investment at Fratton Park. Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie stated on Thursday that there was 'no money left' after the players and staff had not been paid their wages for September. Middle Eastern businessman Al Fahim is confident of securing a £50m loan from sources in the United States and insists it will not saddle the club with any further debt. Personally responsible"I am feeling sorry for this big club with its heritage to be in this situation," Al Fahim told The Guardian. "I am finalising the £50m finance to save it. "It's from the USA and [is] secured by myself and comes as an investment from me to the club. I am taking the loan on my security and my liability, not the club. "It's not a loan to the club but a loan to me. Which means the club will have an investment from me and I am personally responsible for the debt. "And it's from [an] international financial institution. But I am working with their USA office." Al Fahim is also reportedly due to hold talks regarding further investment with the Faraj brothers, who were involved in a consortium fronted by Storrie which failed to buy Pompey in the summer. "I was always open for any investors if they will add value, no matter who they are," added Al Fahim. "I need people who want to stay with me and the club for the long term."
