O'Hara - We are better than this

Jamie O'Hara insists that Portsmouth are better than their league position suggests. Pompey have now gone down in history as having the worst Premier League start ever following their sixth successive defeat at the weekend. And O'Hara insists Pompey can still take heart from their most recent loss at Aston Villa. "It's obviously not nice to be down there with no points, but the two games I've played in we really should have at least got two points," the Spurs loanee said. "It seems like it's just going against us. "The lads worked hard and for the second half we really looked like we could have got something from it. "But when you are down there it doesn't seem to go your way. "We've got to keep taking positives from it really, otherwise it's going to be a long season. "Away from home we knew they were going to put it out wide so we tried to play five and stop James Milner and Ashley Young getting on the ball because they are their main threat. "We did that and, although we gave away two cheap goals, in the second half we kept the ball and moved it. "But the lads can't really think about that now, you've got to look to the next game and try again to get some points. "We've got a big game against Everton but there are encouraging signs." Team-mate Michael Brown feels the club's defending is letting them down. "The game was going similar - but mistakes again have cost us. We did well overall but you can't give goals away and expect to beat teams like Aston Villa away from home," he said. "A bit of a lapse of concentration has shot us in the foot but we have got to keep going. "We've got a good team. I just think we are a little bit naive at the moment. It showed last week against Bolton and then there were two bad goals against Villa. "But we've got good possession and there are some good signs as well. So we'll keep going from there."
