O'Hara open to Pompey stay

Jamie O'Hara is not ruling out securing a permanent switch to Portsmouth after joining on loan from Spurs. The Spurs midfielder will spend the first half of the season at Fratton Park in a bid to gain more regular action. O'Hara, who should make his debut against Bolton this weekend, is just happy to be playing first-team football again. The 22-year-old is tied to Spurs until 2013, but has failed to rule out staying at Pompey permanently should the opportunity arise. "Obviously that's what Tottenham want me to do. They want me to play football," he told Sky Sports News. "On a personal view I just want to play. Whether it's at Portsmouth or Tottenham I just want to play football. "If I'm going to be playing my football here then that's where I'm going to be playing my football." Pompey have made a dreadful start to the new campaign and O'Hara, who is one of 13 new faces at the club, believes they will turn the corner sooner rather than later. Despite the heavy influx of new talent at Fratton Park, the Spurs loanee believes that given a little bit more time Paul Hart's charges will soon climb the Premier League ladder. "The manager has brought in some new faces and I think we've got a base now of a team and we can start getting some results," he continued. "Once we start picking up some results we'll start flying up the table. "It's difficult for new players coming in, but obviously there's quite a few new faces so it's been a lot easier because you're all new to the club and helping each other out. "I think all the lads have settled in quite well and we're just dying to get out there now."
