Norris And Halford Leave Pompey

Two more out of the door.

Neil Warnock has continued in his quest to sign every Pompey player he can as David Norris has joined Leeds United.

One player he won't be getting his hands on, however, is Greg Halford who has completed his switch to Nottingham Forest.

Norris has joined Leeds for three years on a free transfer but could receive up to £250,000 for him in the future, depending on appearances and goals scored for his new club.

He should bang in a fewgoals for his new club having scored a few for us in the season he was a Pompey player. Despite being a fans' favourite, I honestly didn't believe he was a great player for our club.

Yes, he scored some important goals for us but when he wasn't scoring, he wasn't doing much else and often went missing during games when we needed something to happen.

Still, he will always be a cult hero at Fratton Park for a certain goal he scored and for that, we will always be thankful.

If there are any Forest fans reading this then they'll be happy to know that they've got a versatile, solid defender in the shape of Greg Halford.

He'll lose concentration and make mistakes now and again, but he's good in the air and knows how to take a penalty. I wish him all the best at the City Ground.

So, there are now five players left at Portsmouth. Erik Huseklepp is set for a move back to Brann now that a dispute between Pompey and his former club Bari has been resolved.

Liam Lawrence still remains at the club and apart from one or two links to Championship clubs, there has been no concrete news as to where he'll be going or no word on his own personal situation.

The remaining three players are Trevor Birch's "problem players" in Dave Kitson, Kanu and Tal Ben-Haim.

There are now 14 days left for these players to leave and for either the Trust or Balram Chainrai to buy the club. Hopefully it's the former rather than the latter.
