No major overhaul at Pompey

Portsmouth's new owners have ruled out a major spending spree at Fratton Park. Chairman Balram Chainrai and director Levi Kushnir have no plans to splash out during their stay on the south coast, despite the threadbare squad currently available to manager Steve Cotterill. The pair have made it clear they do not want to be at the club for the long haul and Kushnir told The News: "What was before in Portsmouth will not be in the future as long as we are owners. "There will not be a shopping spree of expensive players, taking commitments on a company knowing it will not be able to be settled."
