Portsmouth rounded off a nightmare trip to Washington with a 4-0 defeat to MLS side DC United in their latest pre-season friendly.[LNB] Former Manchester City, Notts County and Hull striker Danny Allsopp hit a hat-trick to down a Pompey side who turned out at the RFK Stadium with luck firmly against them.[LNB]A cancelled flight meant Steve Cotterill's side arrived in the United States capital just hours before kick-off having had little sleep, no training and minus 14 bags which went missing en route, which included their kit.[LNB]They were then forced to borrow United's away strip as they battled through in Washington's hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius.
