New signing Michael Brown confident Portsmouth won't get relegated

Michael Brown insists Portsmouth will avoid the drop despite losing their opening four games of the Barclays Premier League season. Paul Hart's men are bottom of the table and still looking for their first point of the campaign. But Brown, 32, who made his Pompey debut in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City at the weekend, was encouraged by his side's performance at Fratton Park. We were playing a fantastic team but credit to us, we kept fighting. 'It gives us something to build on and with just a bit more resilience and confidence we'll be all right. 'The longer it goes on when you are on no points it's inevitable the confidence starts to suffer but that performance will give us a boost of confidence.'
