Nadir `no' to loan switch

Portsmouth winger Nadir Ciftci has no plans for a loan move away from the club and is just concentrating on getting back into the first team. The 18-year-old, who only signed his first professional contract at Fratton Park in June, started three of the first four games of the season but since then has been limited to cameo substitute appearances following Liam Lawrence's arrival from Stoke. Ciftci has discussed his situation with Pompey boss Steve Cotterill and is happy to stay and fight for his place. He told the News: "I haven't heard anything about going out on loan. At the moment I am here and I'm concentrating on trying to get into the picture for Portsmouth. "I get on well with the gaffer and we have a good relationship. He has not said anything about sending me out. He has told me a lot about what he thinks I have in my locker." He added: "The progress has been really quick for me. It's been different and something I've been getting used to. When I was in the team, I was doing all I could to stay there. Then when you are not in the team you do all you can to get back in it."
