Mvuemba eyes Pompey stay

Portsmouth's loan midfielder Arnold Mvuemba is hoping to earn a more permanent stay at Fratton Park, despite a lack of first-team opportunities.

The 22-year-old schemer is on loan from Rennes until the end of the season, but has made just one appearance for Pompey to date, as a substitute in the 3-0 defeat at Blackburn Rovers.

He told the club's official website: "It is difficult for the manager because there are many good players.

"He told me to wait so I have waited, I want to play more games for Pompey, but I understand it's up to the manager.

"I want to stay at Fratton Park, but I don't know what will happen. It's not up to me. Portsmouth is a good city with a good club, good players and good fans so I like it.

"The Premier League is fast, it's tough, it's good and I want to stay."
