Mokoena: Kitson is about more than goals

Portsmouth captain Aaron Mokoena insists striker Dave Kitson brings more to the team than just his goals. Kitson, a summer acquisition from Stoke, was back on the scoresheet in the 2-0 win at Norwich on Saturday after going eight games without finding the net. However, it is the overall contribution of the former Stoke man which defender Mokoena looks for rather than his goal return. He told the News: "Kits is an important player to the team. I know as a striker you have to score goals, and that's what he always wants to do. "But look at the way he leads the play and the way he links the team. He works hard and as a team that's what we need. "Of course we need him to score, but we need him to play fantastically as he did against Norwich. We can't blame him for not scoring. With the way he plays, I don't care if he's not scoring if we are winning games."
