The Mexican Football Federation has confirmed Sven Goran Eriksson will remain its head coach for at least the next two games.[LNB] The Federation has told Sky Sports News' chief news reporter Bryan Swanson that Eriksson will take charge of their friendly against Bolivia on 11th March and their World Cup qualifier against Costa Rica on 28th March. [LNB]Eriksson has been strongly linked with a move to Portsmouth after the departure of Tony Adams, but has a contract with Mexico until after the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.[LNB]The Swede's position with Mexico came under scrutiny after last week's 2-0 defeat away to the United States in the opening game of the final round of qualifying for the World Cup.[LNB]Following the defeat, Eriksson insisted he would not stand down and the former England coach also received the backing of the Mexican Federation.[LNB]He has endured a mixed tenure as Mexico coach since his appointment last summer after he left his role as manager of Manchester City.[LNB]Eriksson is currently the favourite to replace Adams at Fratton Park, with caretaker boss Paul Hart also among the contenders.[LNB]Pompey's former director of football Avram Grant has hinted at an interest in the job, while Slaven Bilic and Alan Curbishley have also been linked with the post.[LNB]
