Lyon duo set for exit

Lyon are prepared to sell Frederic Piquionne and John Mensah this summer and have revealed the former is attracting interest from England. The Ligue 1 club have bought Lisandro Lopez, while St Etienne's Bafetimbi Gomis is set to arrive, as they aim to form a squad capable of regaining the title from Bordeaux. Lyon therefore need to make room and they are prepared to offload striker Piquionne, who has been linked with Portsmouth, and Ghana defender Mensah. Bernard Lacombe, the advisor to Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas, has said the club are ready to sell and has confirmed Piquionne is a target of clubs in England and Spain. "Frederic Piquionne has some contacts in England and Spain - his situation should develop in the next two or three days," he told Lyon's official website. "John Mensah could equally leave us because he needs playing time. He is looking ahead to the African Nations Cup and the World Cup." But Lacombe insists Spain international Dani Guiza will not be arriving, despite Fenerbahce coach Christoph Daum claiming a fee had been agreed for the forward. Lacombe added: "I will be clear. We never made a proposition to Fenerbahce for that player."
