2012/2013 Season fixtures released.

AFC Bournemouth will be the first team to visit Fratton Park in the 2012/2013 League One season.

What could well be the most attractive home fixture of the season will take place on Saturday, August 18th before a midweek trip to Colchester and then the longest trip of the season to Carlisle's Brunton Park.

Boxing Day will see Crawley Town play their first ever competitive fixture at Fratton Park whilst Pompey fans will be happy with a relatively short trip to Swindon on New Year's Day.

During what will surely be a tough campaign, Pompey fans will also face midweek league trips to Yeovil, Stevenage and Leyton Orient to go with any League Cup and Johnstone's Paint Trophy ties.

This season will also see Portsmouth enter the competition they won four years ago at the start with the first round of the FA Cup to be played on Saturday, November 3rd.

The final game of the season is away at Shrewsbury Town with the final home game being played against Sheffield United a week before.

This season seems to involve much more travelling than the last with so many clubs up north and the trip to Hartlepool just two days before Christmas Day couldn't possibly have come at a worse time.

Still, it'll be nice to start the season at home for the first time since 2009 although I expect our club to be in such a state that I expect very little return from our first few matches.
