Laws: Nugent deal unrealistic

Burnley boss Brian Laws has revealed bringing Portsmouth striker David Nugent back to the club on loan was not feasible due to the finances involved. Laws considered the prospect of bolstering his strikeforce after Chris Iwelumo sustained a hamstring injury late in Saturday's defeat to Swansea. Iwelumo will now miss Scotland's upcoming double header against Lithuania and Liechtenstein and Nugent had been linked with a move back to Turf Moor following a successful season-long loan stay last season. Yet Laws told Burnley's official website: "A lot of media have been putting two and two together with Nugent being here last season and being successful and the fact that we liked him. However, the financial side of things make it unrealistic."
