Lawrence reassures Pompey

On-loan Stoke midfielder Liam Lawrence insists he will join Portsmouth on a permanent basis when the January transfer window opens. The 28-year-old is currently at Pompey on an emergency loan deal after the clubs failed to agree a permanent switch in time on deadline day earlier this season. He told the News: "People keep questioning me about whether I am signing in January. Obviously, because I am still classed as a loan, no-one knows what is going on. "But I have signed and as soon as the clock ticks over on January 1, I will be automatic. I have already signed the papers. "It is all done and dusted. My contract is for three-and-a-half years so you'll just have to put up with me for a while longer. "I'm enjoying it at Portsmouth, my head has not been turned by anything. I am happy here. I'm playing some good stuff sometimes and the manager believes in me, so that is the main thing."
